Multimedia Journalism Master’s alum Rita Sabler ’23 paired her digital art with animation skills she learned at the SOJC to create a beautiful and moving documentary about global funeral practices.

In spring 2023, members of the Multimedia Journalism Master’s program produced a documentary related to the racist history in Portland, Oregon, that dates back to the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

Erika Bolstad ’20 came to the Multimedia Journalism Master’s program to learn how to make documentaries. Her first film, which solved a family mystery, started as her capstone project.

Students in the Multimedia Journalism Master’s program took the unique approach of pursuing their class project as a group and told a meaningful story about longtime Portlanders.

Through the SOJC’s documentary research and production program, students connect with Oscar- and Emmy-winning filmmakers throughout the industry.
