Biography

Dr. Smith joined the public relations faculty in 2018. She is passionate about undergraduate education and helping students find meaningful careers. She oversees the science communication minor and teaches public relations and science communication courses at the SOJC. Since coming to the UO, Smith's work has primarily focused on natural hazards in the Pacific Northwest, including smoke and wildfire. She has previously served as a board member of the International Environmental Communication Association.
