As an Arab-American and Muslim woman, Hanin Najjar realized how misrepresented her community was in the media. So the SOJC alum launched the inclusive company Parachute Media.
Hanin Najjar, class of '21, co-founded a company before completing her undergraduate degree in journalism and political science. Now, only a few months after graduation, she has been named a Portland Innovator under 25 by Portland Business Journal for her work with Parachute Media.
Tylynn Burns used the skills she gained directing the SOJC’s student-run ad agency to launch her own event agency. She also stars in HBO’s “Sweet Life: Los Angeles.”
A lifelong fan of “the beautiful game,” Jackie Gutierrez parlayed her SOJC Journalism Master’s degree into a website that covers women’s soccer at the highest level.
