The Oregon chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists has named KLCC’s Nathan Wilk its 2024 Rookie of the Year. Wilk ’23 was part of the Snowden Internship Program before joining KLCC in 2023.

Lookout Santa Cruz, a digital-only news site started by Ken Doctor '79, won a Pulitzer Prize for its coverage of flooding in California. Doctor is a member of the SOJC Hall of Achievement.

Advertising major Annie Neal '25 and journalism major Johnny Media '24 are honored for exploring passions an embracing challenges as they thrive in their UO experience.

The One Club has announced that Deborah Morrison, distinguished professor of advertising at the SOJC, will be inducted into the Educator Hall of Fame in September.

The University of Texas is honoring Julianne H. Newton, professor of visual communication at the UO School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC), by naming one of two Faculty Recognition Awards in her honor.

Media studies professor Bryce Newell won an award from the Surveillance Studies Network for his book "Police Visibility: Privacy, Surveillance, and the False Promise of Body-Worn Cameras."

The Agora Journalism Center at the SOJC sponsored this year’s Gather Award in Community-Centered Journalism for the fifth consecutive year at the Online Journalism Awards Ceremony and Banquet.
