Camilla Mortensen is editor in chief of Eugene Weekly, the print and digital alternative weekly newspaper covering Lane County, Oregon. She has won national and regional awards for her news and editorial writing, and has worked with students and interns to publish their award-winning, impactful reporting.
In addition to teaching journalism courses at the University of Oregon, Camilla teaches writing and journalism at Lane Community College. She also advises LCC's The Torch newspaper and is on the board of the rural nonprofit Highway 58 Herald. She taught folklore and literature at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before turning her hand to thesaurus writing at the American Folklife Center of the Library of Congress, and then to journalism.
