Marianne Malina, a 1993 graduate of the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication, has made her name in leadership roles at some of the world’s most creative advertising agencies.

In 2022, she began her current role of North American president at 72andSunny, the agency behind the NFL’s 2023 Super Bowl campaign “Run With It” and the United Airlines brand campaign “Good Leads the Way.”

Prior to this, she was global CEO of Crispin Porter Bogusky, a creative marketing agency. She came to the agency after two decades working to transform the advertising agency GSD&M, where she worked her way up from the account management team to eventually become president. At GSD&M she was able to ignite a thriving culture while driving creativity for brands including Southwest Airlines, Pizza Hut, Popeyes, and Capital One.

Malina’s success is fueled by a passion for creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurship, along with a love for the creative industry and her deeply held belief that it can make a positive impact on the world.

This has seen her champion significant initiatives, including 2017’s nationwide “Time’s Up/Advertising” campaign, which aimed to take tangible action against discrimination while promoting equality and representation in the industry.

Beyond her professional achievements, Malina’s favorite role is being a mom. She says it has changed her professionally, instilling a profound sense of joy and pride that has contributed to her growth as a leader, mentor, and supporter of modern workplace cultures.
