Stephen Mante Anti is a doctoral candidate in Communication and Media Studies and a Graduate Teaching Fellow at the SOJC. He studies how news coverage shapes stigma and help-seeking for mental illness in Ghana. His dissertation pairs a decade of Ghanaian news coverage with a framing experiment on psychosis.
At the UO, he has taught Writing as Practice as instructor of record and led labs for Gateway to Media Studies and Writing for Communicators. Before graduate school, he spent more than a decade as a news editor and national television anchor in Ghana, and as the U.S. Embassy’s PEPFAR media specialist in Accra.
