Biography

With more than a decade of experience in communication, Suenia de Azevedo is a dedicated and innovative graduate assistant at the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC). Currently pursuing a doctoral degree in communication and media studies, she is deepening her academic expertise in the political economy of media, digital culture, and Latin American feminism, committed to the mission of empowering and celebrating Brazilian culture through her research on feminism within marginalized Brazilian rhythms and the contributions of female labor in the music industry. Suenia's research brings a global south perspective and a multicultural background to the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon.
