Suenia de Azevedo is from Recife, Brazil, and graduated in Journalism from the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco in 2017. With over seven years in communication, she has professional experience as a copywriter, internal communication specialist, social media strategist, and reporter. After college, Suenia had an exchange experience as an Au Pair in Washington, DC. She, then, moved to Eugene, Oregon, in 2022 to pursue her Master's in Communication and Media Studies at the University of Oregon. Currently, Suenia is a doctoral student in Communication and Media Studies at the same university, researching marginalized rhythms and social movements in Brazil and continuing her mission of empowering and celebrating her culture through her research.
