Biography

Emily is an undergraduate Career and Academic Advisor. For the 2022-2023 academic year she is serving as the Interim Assistant Director for the SOJC's Undergraduate Student Services Office. She advises prospective, pre-journalism, and current students within the School of Journalism and Communication, as well as, manages the SOJC Ambassador program and all undergraduate recruitment. Before moving to Eugene to become part of the SOJC and UO community, Emily worked at Regis University in Denver, Colorado in the office of Residence Life and Housing and as a case manager at a shelter for low-income and previously homeless women in Washington, D.C. as part of the Lutheran Volunteer Corps. Emily graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 2014 with a BA in Environmental Studies and minors in German, Global Studies, and Women and Gender Studies and has a MS in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University. Emily values building relationships with the students she works with and approaches advising with a philosophy of holistic care.
