Diana Fingal has worked as a writer, editor, and content creator for more than thirty-five years—even longer if you count her stint as managing editor of the Oregon Daily Emerald in the 1980s. After graduating from the University of Oregon, she worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Oregon, California, Nevada, and Alaska.
She then joined Peace Corps, serving in Ukraine as an English teacher. Afterward, she became editor of the English-language weekly, Kyiv Post, before returning to the U.S. in 2002.
She was an assistant city editor at The Register-Guard in Eugene for seven years before moving to an education nonprofit where she edited several magazines and managed the organization’s blog.
At UO, she loves to help students craft blogs and articles that elevate the great opportunities and experiences to be had at the UO School of Journalism and Communication.
