Dave Koranda worked at and with several ad agencies on international, national, regional, and local advertising for clients such as Pepsi Brands and McDonalds before joining the SOJC faculty. He created the first class in the United States focused on curiosity in 2007, and it is now taught in several areas of the UO. He has consulted with universities and colleges as well agencies and brands regarding ways to develop curiosity.
Koranda served on the American Advertising Federation (AAF) National Education Executive Council and chaired the National Student Advertising Competition committee. He received the Johnathan Marshall Award for Innovative Teaching and the Distinguished Educator Award from the AAF. Koranda is co-author of the Advertising Campaign Workbook and Advertising Media Planning—A Brand Management Approach.
