IR Futures

IR Futures is a student organization focused on business and financial communications. The group investigates emerging trends in corporate and financial public relations, investor relations, issues management, and public affairs. Members attend monthly meetings, sponsor workshops, and volunteer their time to broaden student understanding of the capital markets as well as personal finance issues that impact the community. We invite distinguished speakers from the financial sector to campus to facilitate an exchange of ideas and foster professional development among members. IR Futures is one of a small number of student investor relations organizations in the nation.

Booklandia.tv

Booklandia.tv is a community where book lovers can discover and share videos on a platform devoted to storytelling. Created by SOJC students in partnership with Powell’s Books, the world’s largest independent bookstore, Booklandia.tv provides compelling content for anyone who’s ever loved a good story, including interviews with established and emerging authors, comedy, book reviews, news, and commentary.

Association for Women in Sports Media (AWSM)

The Association for Women in Sports Media is a national professional organization that supports and advocates for women in sports writing, editing, broadcast, production, public relations, and media relations. Its goal is to promote and increase diversity in sports media. Our student chapter, like the national organization, welcomes members of any gender.

Allen Hall Public Relations (AHPR)

Allen Hall Public Relations is a student-run public relations agency that enables some of UO’s best and brightest students to construct and implement campaigns for real clients. The agency offers a broad range of PR services, including marketing, advertising, electronic media, copywriting and graphic design using both traditional and online approaches. In addition to each team working individually for its client, the agency meets as a whole once a week during the term, often engaging in professional development workshops and hosting guest speakers.

Bateman Case Study Competition

The Bateman Case Study Competition is PRSSA’s premier national case study competition for public relations students, and gives student an opportunity to apply their classroom education and internship experiences to create and implement a full public relations campaign. Duck TV

Duck TV is the University of Oregon’s student run television network. Every aspect of the production from the music to the costumes is run by students at the University of Oregon. Students in Duck TV will gain valuable portfolio work and receive hands-on training from other students in a cooperative environment, all while receiving academic credit.

National Broadcasting Society (NBS)

NBS is a national professional honor society dedicated to enhancing the development of students and entry-level professionals involved in the telecommunications and electronic media industries. Emerald Media Group

Emerald Media Group is the nonprofit student-run media company at the University of Oregon and has served campus since 1900. The Emerald was honored as the national College Newspaper of the Year and is a finalist for the most prestigious national award in college media.
