Margaret ‘Margy’ Parker earned her Masters in Communication and Society from the University of Oregon and has combined that education with 30 years experience in marketing, public relations, advertising, research, public affairs and organizational development to bring a broad perspective on communication to UO’s SOJC. She primarily teaches the capstone course in the public relations sequence. She also teaches workshops, seminars, freshmen connections courses, and advises student teams in Allen Hall Public Relations (AHPR). In 2015/2016 she plans to teach a hybrid course (partial online, partial in-lab) for the Strategic PR Communication course. Margy also manages her own public relations and strategic communication business providing media-writing, advertising, online campaign management, strategic communication planning and tactical implementation, internal communication, brand development, issue positioning, organizational development and public affairs communication.
