Kathryn Kuttis joined the School of Journalism and Communication in 2013. She teaches strategic writing, business and financial communication, infographic design, PR campaigns, portfolios, and media professions. A University of Oregon alum, she has a master’s degree from the landscape architecture department. Kuttis uses the intersection of these two disciplines to look at the ways we see and represent cultural associations. Her investigations focus on media studies and the visual display of complex information.
Prior to her arrival in Eugene, Kuttis was a vice president with Edelman Public Relations in New York, where she advised Fortune 500 clients such as Adidas-Salomon, Whirlpool, and Pizza Hut on corporate reputation management and media relations. She shares her professional experience as the faculty advisor for IR Futures, a student group that promotes knowledge of the capital markets among students at the SOJC.
