Biography
John Russial’s 17-year newspaper career includes 12 years at The Philadelphia Inquirer, where he was Sunday copy chief. Before that, he was a reporter, editor, and computer systems manager at the Bethlehem (Pa.) Globe Times. He is the author of Strategic Copy Editing, a textbook published in December 2003.

Research
Russial’s interests include exploring the impact of changing technology on news work, particularly editing, and on newspaper quality. His other interests are organizational change, new media, media criticism, and journalism pedagogy.
