Wally Jo Tharp Scholarship

The Wally Jo Tharp Scholarship provides support for Public Relations students in the School of Journalism and Communication. Considerations include financial need, scholastic excellence and demonstrated examples of the passion and dedication necessary to succeed in the field of Public Relations.Wally Jo Tharp's life revolved around the University of Oregon, where she had a 30-year career. UO was her job, her hobby, her social life and her passion. Twenty years of her career were spent serving the UO Foundation and its Board of Trustees, first as an assistant to the Foundation executive director and then as director of board relations. She organized ninety board meetings and served eighteen board presidents and seven executive directors.
