Rebecca Force has worked as a feature writer, operations coordinator, news director, and has over 35 years of broadcast experience. She earned a degree in Biology at Vassar College then later studied journalism at Southern Oregon University. She worked with KEZI for 15 years and KOBI for ten years. When Force began teaching at the UO she became highly involved with the TV program UO Today where she produced 366 episodes for 11 years. She is also the advisor for Duck U, the University’s student-produced variety television program. Last spring Force was inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Silver Circle in honor of more than 25 years of outstanding service in television.

“I love the fact that all of the young journalists coming up care about the same things I do," she said. "They’re good, they’re passionate, they’re motivated, they want to tell good stories, they don’t want to hurt a lot of people, they want to do it right.”
