Alina Padilla-Miller is a doctoral student in the Communication and Society program at the University of Oregon. Her research is focused on the digital world and the complex construction of identity within social networking interface sites. More specifically, she has been looking at the encoding and decoding processes of culturally constructed categories, such as class, gender, sexuality and race, into the digital world and how these identity attributes affect both physical and digital realities. Alina has also been teaching J333-Writing for Multimedia and truly enjoys facilitating students through the creative process of producing multimedia packages.
