Benjamin Brayfield discovered his passion for photojournalism in fall 2007. After returning from eight months in Italy, the Los Angeles native began studying photojournalism and making pictures daily. His current work varies from general assignments to specialized documentaries. Brayfield freelances for the Oregon Daily Emerald and was the photo editor for KD magazine spring issue. He has slept in an ambulance and climbed trees to get the shot. Brayfield photographed the declining state of the ocean along the Oregon Coast and documented the ongoing experiences of three men in drug rehab for Faith in Recovery for this issue of Flux.
