Scholarship Description: 

Established in 1983 by the late Robert W. and Nancy Chandler. Mr. Chandler was a civic leader in Central Oregon. For more than forty years, he was the publisher and editor of The Bulletin in Bend. Chandler started Western Communications, which now owns eight newspapers in Oregon and California. He has been described by former School of Journalism and Communication Dean Duncan McDonald as highly recognized for his leadership and philanthropy and having a "profound and colorful impact on the nation."

Qualifications: 
Awarded to undergraduate students majoring in journalism at the School of Journalism and Communication.
