The University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC) has a project listed on the upcoming DuckFunder campaign, a crowdfunding platform created to help Ducks across the University of Oregon campus raise money for ideas they are passionate about.
Global Stories: Sri Lanka
This trip will take SOJC students to Sri Lanka to tell the stories of people affected by the 2004 tsunami and the country’s 25-year civil war, which ended in 2009. Donations provided through DuckFunder will help ambitious, talented students tell Sri Lanka’s incredible stories of hope and perseverance. “Enriching experiences like these give our students a chance to practice meaningful journalism while developing cultural competency,” says Maya Lazaro, an SOJC representative for the project.

The official fundraising campaign for these projects takes place Feb. 1-29. To contribute, please visit the DuckFunder website. Your donations will help give students valuable hands-on opportunities that will develop their journalistic skills and shape their career paths.
