Mickey Nall, managing director of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide in Atlanta, Ga., will give an executive-in-residence keynote on “Tradigital” as the future of PR.
On Wednesday, May 4, the School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC) will host a talk by Mickey Nall titled “Tradigital is the Future of PR: Trends Tomorrow’s Professionals Need to Know Now.” The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 5 p.m. in the Papé Room at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, 1430 Johnson Lane, Eugene.
Nall, the managing director of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide in Atlanta, Ga., comes to the university as the first featured speaker in the SOJC’s Public Relations Executive-in-Residence program, which brings high-level public relations executives from around the world to UO classrooms for two- to three-day sessions.
“As the field of public relations evolves with the use of new relationship-building tools such as social media, it’s important to stay at the forefront of practice,” said Pat Curtin, UO professor and SOJC chair of public relations. “Mickey Nall is a pioneer in harnessing the powerful blend of traditional and digital tools, and we’re excited to have him share his expertise with the next generation of public relations practitioners.”
Nall understands the importance of approaching public relations from a variety of outlets and perspectives, both online and in person. At Ogilvy, Nall has worked with branding, consumer marketing, entertainment relations, healthcare and nutrition, corporate social responsibility, technology, government relations and much more. He is an accredited board member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and in 2008 was inducted into its College of Fellows.
