Jonathan Bernstein, president of Bernstein Crisis Management, Inc. will present to the School of Journalism and Communication on May 20 as the 2014 PR Executive-in-Residence.

Bernstein will offer a public presentation, “Lessons Learned: 30 Years in Crisis Management,” in Allen Hall, Room 141, starting at 4:00 p.m. with a light reception to follow.

As a graduate of the University of Maryland, with a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications, he has more than 30 years of experience meeting clients’ needs in all aspects of crisis management including: crisis response, vulnerability assessment, planning, training and simulations.

From holding corporate, agency and non-profit public relations positions, to five years of experience in investigative and feature journalism, Bernstein is recognized internationally for his knowledge on crisis management. He is a veteran of five years in U.S. Army Military Police and Military Intelligence operations.

Bernstein was identified in a PR Week feature story entitled “The Crunch-Time Counselors” as one of 22 “people who should be on the speed dial in a crisis” and Business Week featured his perspectives in an article entitled “Masters of Disaster.”
