Todd Milbourn is an award-winning investigative reporter, writer, TV producer, and business strategist. He got his start in newspapers at The Modesto Bee, where his investigation of a multimillion dollar housing scheme put a high-profile company out of business, landed its CEO in prison, and inspired a new state law on predatory lending. At The Sacramento Bee, Milbourn roamed the state as an enterprise reporter, filing front-page dispatches on everything from wildfires to political scandals to the plight of a tiny mountain town that had no telephone service—in 2008.
Milbourn’s international experience includes a stint as an editor and columnist at a business magazine based in the Czech Republic. He’s also worked extensively in broadcast journalism, serving as interim executive producer and on-air reporter at KVAL-TV, a top-rated CBS affiliate in Eugene.
Milbourn holds an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the University of Oregon, where his studies focused on building new business models for journalism in the digital age. He now teaches at the SOJC and the UO’s Lundquist College of Business.
