Suki Dardarian

Suki Dardarian is managing editor at The Seattle Times, where she oversees news, metro, features, business, sports and investigations.

Dardarian joined The Times in January 2000 as an assistant managing editor overseeing the local news operation and was previously senior editor at The News Tribune in Tacoma, Wash.  Before becoming an editor, Dardarian was a reporter at The News Tribune, where she was a Pulitzer Prize finalist, and also was a reporter at The (Everett, Wash.) Herald.

She earned a BA in journalism and political science at the University of Washington, where she was editor of the UW Daily. She also attended Western Washington University, where she was editor of The Western Front.

Dardarian is former president of the Associated Press Managing Editors, a national organization of editors whose newspapers are members of the Associated Press. She has also served as an adviser to the University of Washington Department of Communication.

Dardarian is married to Peter Callaghan, a news columnist for The News Tribune. Their twin daughters attend college in California.
