KTA & Student Awards Ceremony

The KTA Student Recognition Awards Ceremony is held the day before commencement at the School of Journalism and Communication.

The ceremony, which is hosted by the dean, serves to recognize outstanding undergraduate student achievement in SOJC.  In addition to awards, Kappa Tau Alpha inductees are recognized as are SOJC Phi Beta Kappa and Latin Honors students.

Award recipients and inductees are invited to the event (though they do not know what awards they may receive until the actual event).

Family and friends are invited to attend.

  • Willis Winter Award for outstanding scholastic and professional service in the field of advertising
  • Roy Paul Nelson Award for outstanding achievement in advertising design
  • W.L. Thompson Award for outstanding achievement in advertising copywriting
  • Ann Maxwell Award for outstanding achievement in advertising strategic planning
