Forrest majored in journalism in the UO’s School of Journalism and Communication. During his undergraduate career, he focused on writing about animals, local Eugene culture, and the UO school administration. Amid tuition hikes at the university, Forrest was the main beat reporter at the student-run Daily Emerald who covered student protests. He has also written and edited features for the student magazines Ethos and Flux. Forrest has written a wide array of stories, ranging from long, nonfiction narratives to short breaking news clips. On occasion, he wrote Oregon Duck football content for FishDuck.com, a local college sports website. Besides his passion for telling stories, Forrest enjoys running, reading, and exploring the Oregon outdoors. He hopes to write professionally for a magazine or newspaper.
