Mohammed Alkhadher majored in journalism and media studies in the UO’s School of Journalism and Communication. As a person who grew up between Kuwait and Oregon, he’s passionate about the ethics of representation in journalism. Mohammed began his career as a beat reporter for The Torch, the student-run newspaper at Lane Community College, where he found his passion for journalism and worked his way up to become the interim editor-in-chief before transferring to UO. Mohammed just completed a six-month editorial internship with the Eugene Weekly, where he gained experience as a reporter and photojournalist. He’s proud of the two cover stories he landed while at EW, and especially the cover photo he captured for one of them. Mohammed is also an artist and MC. When he isn’t writing for school or publications, he’s creating content that represents his experiences as an Arab-American in constant diaspora.
